You have befriended several exchange students from Mexico, Spain, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. A group of your friends would like to invite your new friends to a Christmas party. You want your Christmas party to have an international flavor. You decide to learn more about how your friends might celebrate Christmas in their own countries and how it compares to how you celebrate. At the party you would like to share your traditions and learn more about their traditions. The Tasks You have ten different activities that must be done before you are ready to throw your party. 1. Research Christmas in the Spanish speaking world. 2. Prepare a playlist of five Spanish Christmas carols (villancicos) or songs. Choose one of the five songs to share with the class as a YouTube video. 3. Create a menu with two dishes each, including recipes, from a Spanish speaking country, and your family. 4. Write a digital invitation in Spanish. Make sure to include all of the pertinent information: name, date, time, place, what to bring, sample of activities, RSVP contact. Make it pretty enough to send out in real life. 5. Prepare and serve one dish from your Spanish food menu to your family. Include pictures of your dishes in your presentation to the class. 6. Critique your recipes. 7. Obtain a critique of the dish(es) from your parents and siblings. 8. Reflect on the different ways Christmas is celebrated. 9.
