(Clowns, float characters, etc.) 4) How are the characters dressed? Do the characters have special masks as part of their costumes? 5) What are some of the sounds of a parade? (Music, drumming, sirens, etc.) 6) What kinds of food are eaten? (Candy, popcorn, etc.) 7) Where do parades take place? 8) Most importantly, why do people hold parades? (To mark a holiday, celebrate with family and community, etc.) 9) What are some of the common characteristics of Carnival celebrations? 10) What are some of the differences in these celebrations across cultures? 11) How do belief systems, such as religion or political ideals of the culture, influence the other parts of the culture? 12) How do these components reflect the culture and history of the cities where they are found?
