Today we will continue to practice expressing likes and dislikes in the present tense. Let's review with the following charts: Gustar + Nouns We learned Gustar + a verb to express the things we like to do, now we are going to learn Gustar + a noun to talk about the things we like. Remember the verb “gustar” in Spanish depends on “what you like” and not the person who likes”
Additionally, “Gustar” is preceded by an indirect object pronoun (me, te, le, nos, os etc.). This indicates that the person is performing the action (of liking). Here are some more examples in sentences: Te gusta la fiesta – You like the party. Te gustan las fiestas.- You like the parties. Nos gusta la canción. – We like the song. Nos gustan las canciones. – We like the songs. !Te toca ti¡ A. When finished, go to the student side of you notebook.

How do we ask what do you like to do in Spanish? ¿Qué te gusta hacer? When you want to talk about what you like to do use: Use phrases like "me gusta + infinitive" "I like + infinitive" Remember the infinitive is the basic form of a verb or when the verb is not conjugated (in English when you see to before the verb). Here is how: ( A mi )Me gusta bailar - I like to dance ( A ti )Te gusta bailar- You like to dance (informal/familiar) ( A usted) Le gusta bailar - You (formal singular) like to dance/He/She likes to dance ( A nosotros/as) Nos gusta bailar - We like to dance ( A vosotros/as) Os gusta bailar - You (informal pl.) like to dance ( A ellos/ellas / A ustedes) ) Les gusta bailar -You (formal pl.) like to dance/They like to dance Make it negative by adding “no” at the beginning.
