II. El comparativo y superlativo Hoy repasamos comparaciones de igualdad y de desigualdad en español. You can compare thing that are egual by sing the expression: Para expresar la igualdad: tan + adjective + como tan + adverb + como Use tanto(a) + noun +como to say "as much as" Use tantos(as) _noun + como to say "as many as" Note that tanto agrees in gender and number with what is being compared. Para expresar la desigualdad: To compare two things or people in Spanish use the following: más + adjective + que (more_________(-er) then) menos + adjective + que (les ____________ than) Veamos la presentación para tomar notas.
ATTENTION!
While more alone means more, after a noun or a definite article, it means most. The noun in a superlative construction can be omitted if the person, place, or thing is clear Referred to. Is the restaurant El Crater? It is the most elegant in the city. The The Crater restaurant? It's the most elegant (one) in the city. I recommend the roast chicken. It's the tastiest on the menu. I recommend the roast chicken. It's the most delicious (thing) on the menu.
Absolute superlatives
In Spanish the absolute superlative is equivalent to extremely, exceptionally, super, or very before an adjective or adverb.
