In other words... Present perfect events are events that started at a point in the past and continue to the present. Because of this, it is technically a present event, because the action still holds true to the present. However, we usually use this tense to talk about the past, because the actions begin in that realm of time.
Pero señora... What does the present perfect in Spanish look like?
As you know, we use this tense to talk about things we have done in the past. Now that you have a better idea as to what the tense is, let’s look at some examples in English. I have been to Costa Rica. Have you seen Amores Perros? She has been here for over an hour. We haven’t bought food this week. Have you guys heard the news? They still haven’t done their homework. Conjugation Because the present perfect is a compound tense, two verbs are required: the auxiliary verb and the main verb. The auxiliary verb First we will learn about haber. The main verb
The main verb in the present tense has as special ending called the Past Participle Got that? Ok, now we are going to learn about the past participle. A participle that typically expresses completed action, that is traditionally one of the principal parts of the verb, and that is traditionally used in English and Spanish in the formation of perfect tenses. The past participle in Spanish is formed by adding the following endings -ado to -AR verbs and -ido to -ER and IR verbs. For example, the verb cantar becomes cantado and the verb comer becomes comido.

B. Un día loco. A continuación les voy a dar un texto describiendo un día horroroso. Fíjense en los diferentes usos del pasado:
Ayer fue un día fatal. Me levanté muy tarde porque mi despertador no sonó. Me duché con agua fría. Usé mis botas sucias sin darme cuenta. Perdí el autobús. Miré un accidente de coche en la calle. Llegué tarde al trabajo. Olvidé las gafas en casa. El ordenador se bloqueó. Mis compañeros de trabajo fueron a comer sin mí. Olvidé que teníamos una reunión después del trabajo. Mandé un mensaje de texto a mis amigos porque los extraño mucho. Cambia los verbos en negrita (que están en pretérito, ya que la la descripción de ese día ha sido tratada como si hubiera sido ayer) al presente perfecto (donde la perspectiva es que estamos viviendo ese día hoy ). Note: Certain verbs that have a double vowel in the infinitive form (except those with the double vowel ui ) require an accent mark on the i in the past participle.
