Syllabus/El sílabo Today we will go over the course syllabus, which is located at this link. Take a few minutes to read it and complete the activity below. Open your interactive notebook to page one and page two. Now, we are ready to begin setting your interactive notebook. Page 2 The first thing that goes in is our course syllabus. When you complete the activity on page one take a few minutes to tape down the questions to page 2 using four pieces of tape in the sides as shown. Page 1 Is where you will process the information. In other words, all activities will be on the left and notes on the right side. On the student side you will answer the following questions in complete sentences. II. Interactive Notebooks/ Cuadernos Interactivos We will use Interactive Notebooks for note taking, vocabulary and practice activities. Today, we will set up your interactive notebook so you can be ready to use it. Our goal is to be organized for the year, prevent work from getting lost, and I want you to take ownership of your Spanish Interactive Notebook.
STEP 1: Front of notebook and first page: First/ID page should state your name, class period, teacher name, STEP2: Second-Third pages: Table of Contents Just like every book out there, there is a table of contents, and we will complete one too! Use the margin lines to create three columns for the date, lesson/title, and page numbers. STEP 3: Fourth-Seventh pages: NUEVO VOCABULARIO STEP 4: Number all pages Example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on (remember page #8 is actually page #1) STEP 5: ¡Sobre mi! About me! Personalize your notebook cover with colorful drawings or photos that show what you are all about. III. Subject pronouns Today we will review subject pronouns in Spanish. Take out your Interactive Notebook and get ready to take notes on the teacher side. If absent click on the following link and take notes: Subject Pronouns Subject Pronouns- Pronombres Personales In Spanish, as well as in English, we use subject pronouns and they are words that play the role of the subject in a sentence or question.
1) Subject pronouns In Spanish, we have three different "persons" with 12 different subject pronouns. They are broken down in the picture below.
2) Tu vs Ud Formal you- "Usted" is formal and is generally used to express respect or to address a person with whom you have a distant relationship such as a professor, coworkers, a person older than you. Informal or Familiar you- "Tú" is familiar and is used among friends, family members, or when addressing a child you know well. You can also use informal tú when addressing a pet. Here's the complete list of Spanish subject pronouns: Singular yo - I tú - you (familiar) él - he ella - she usted - you (formal) Plural nosotros - we (masculine or mixed gender) nosotras - we (feminine) vosotros - you-all (familiar, Spain, masculine or mixed gender) vosotras - you-all (familiar, Spain, feminine) ellos - they (masculine or mixed gender) ellas - they (feminine) ustedes - you-all (formal in Spain, formal and familiar in Latin America) 3) Replace pronouns with subject pronouns Copy the following examples and complete the practice activity. Once you have answered all four questions, turn your paper into the basket in the appropriate class period. IV.
