Vocabulario Tener & tener que Ir a + infinitive Actividades Extracurriculares U1: Los pasatiempos Stem Changing Verbs II. Stem Changers Today you will continue to conjugate stem changing verbs. ***Remember YOU MUST know how to conjugate to master this concept. *** Let's review: The main form of the verb is called the infinitive. (when it is not conjugated) For example: cantar - vivir - beber. Parts of a verb: The infinitive consists of two parts: the ending and the stem. The ending is the last two letters. There are only three different endings: -ar, -er, and -ir. The stem is everything else, except the ending. How do we conjugate verbs? Remember just drop the ending and replace it. Simple right? What are Stem-changing verbs? They are verbs in the present tense that use the same endings as regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs when conjugated, but undergo a vowel change in the last syllable of the stem. Present tense stem changes do not apply to nosotros and vosotros forms. These two forms maintain the form of the infinitive stem.
