III. INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK/CUADERNO INTERACTIVO We will use Interactive Notebooks for note taking, vocabulary and practice activities. Today, we will set up your interactive notebook so you can be ready to use it. Our goal is to be organized for the year, prevent work from getting lost, and I want you to take ownership of your Spanish Interactive Notebook. So where do we begin? None of the first pages will be numbered the first page is not "page 1." Numbered pages come after all of the following stuff. FRONT OF BOOK STEP 1: Front of notebook and first page: First/ID page should state your name, class period, teacher name, and have colorful drawings or photos that show what you are all about. STEP2: Second-Third pages: Table of Contents Just like every book out there, there is a table of contents, and we will complete one too! Use the margin lines to create three columns for the date, lesson/title, and page numbers. When you complete the activity on page one take a few minutes to tape down the course syllabus to page 2 using four pieces of tape in the sides as shown. After watching the video, we will have a class discussion about what you learned and what the video tells you about the acquisition (learning) of a new language. Reflect on the following questions: 1. How do you think that learning multiple languages has helped these actors/actresses to relate to the people around them? 2. How do you think that learning more than one language has affected their personality? Do you think they may have different personalities when speaking different languages? 3. How do you think learning another language will affect you? II. INTRODUCTIONS NAME GAME-We will play the name game standing next to or behind the chair. The first time you will pass a ball to another student, someone next to you. I will model "Me llamo Señora Smith" "¿Cómo te llamas?" and then pass the ball to another student. Once everyone has been introduced, then in the second round the ball will be tossed to another student across the way until everyone has gotten it, and you will need to remember the order. We will then add in "se llama" to tell the name of who the ball came from and where it is going. CIRCLING WITH BALLS - We will start this Ben Slavic activity to continue to get to know each other. Instructions for 3 Words Everyone is going to introduce themselves using just 3 words.
