After watching the video, we will have a class discussion about what you learned and what the video tells you about the acquisition (learning) of a new language. Reflect on the following questions: 1. How do you think that learning multiple languages has helped these actors/actresses to relate to the people around them? 2. How do you think that learning more than one language has affected their personality? Do you think they may have different personalities when speaking different languages? 3. How do you think learning another language will affect you? II. INTRODUCTIONS NAME GAME-We will play the name game standing next to or behind the chair. The first time you will pass a ball to another student, someone next to you. I will model "Me llamo Señora Smith" "¿Cómo te llamas?" and then pass the ball to another student. Once everyone has been introduced, then in the second round the ball will be tossed to another student across the way until everyone has gotten it, and you will need to remember the order. We will then add in "se llama" to tell the name of who the ball came from and where it is going. CIRCLING WITH BALLS - We will start this Ben Slavic activity to continue to get to know each other. Instructions for 3 Words Everyone is going to introduce themselves using just 3 words.
Ex - Mirna, El Salvador, Traveling III. Repasito Each day we will have a warm-up or "repasito." The "repasito" will be posted to this blog. Each day, you will sit in your assigned seat, read the instructions on the board or pull out your Chromebook, and respond to the repasito. All "repasitos" must be done on a piece of paper and turned in every Friday. Today's "repasito" is to fill out a questionnaire with your most current information for Sra. Smith records. Questionnaire: About You! Reminder: Necessary Materials every day you will need a pen/pencil, paper, 1-one subject notebook, a 3-ring binder and a computer.
