Today we will discuss the importance of learning another language. First, let’s watch the video 9 reasons to learn another language. After the video we will do an activity called "Philosophical Chairs." Instructions: 1. I will read a statement about world language education like "It is very important to learn another language in order to be a good world citizen." 2. You will decide if you agree, disagree, or sort of agree and sort of disagree with the statement. 3. If you agree, go to the front of the classroom. 4. If you disagree, go to the back of the classroom. 5. If you could see it either way and can't decide, stand in the middle. 6. Be prepared to defend your opinion! "I don't know, I was just standing here" is not acceptable. Agenda I. Repasito Write 10 Spanish speaking countries. II. Cuaderno Interactivo We will use Interactive Notebooks for note taking, vocabulary and practice activities. Today, we will set up your interactive notebook so you can be ready to use it. Our goal is to be organized for the year, prevent work from getting lost. None of the first pages will be numbered, the first page is not "page 1." Numbered pages come after all of the following stuff. STEP 1: Front of notebook and first page: First/ID page, should state your nombre, clase, nombre del profesor. On the inside of the front cover glue the grading rubric. STEP 2: -Glue Table of Contents (provided) on pages 2-3 after the Name Page. (You may need to trim the edges.) -The next 4 pages are for vocabulary. Label them: Unit 1 Vocab, Unit 2 Vocab, Unit 3 Vocab, Unit 4 Vocab. -The Next 2 pages should be labeled "Free Space" STEP 3: Tape or glue "Grade Tracker" to the back inside cover of the Notebook. Step 4: The last section of the notebook is for "Repasitos". Create a "tab" by folding the papers into a triangle. (If you have a 3 subject notebook, just label the 3rd tab "Repasitos.") CH chico (boy) and leche (milk) LL llenar (to fill) and amarillo (yellow) Ñ mañana (tomorrow) and niños (children) RR perro (dog) and burrito (little donkey) In Spanish the V and the B are almost interchangeable. It's a semi-soft sound as in victoria, bobo or volleyball.
