Agenda I. Repasito Write 10 Spanish speaking countries. II. Cuaderno Interactivo We will use Interactive Notebooks for note taking, vocabulary and practice activities. Today, we will set up your interactive notebook so you can be ready to use it. Our goal is to be organized for the year, prevent work from getting lost. None of the first pages will be numbered, the first page is not "page 1." Numbered pages come after all of the following stuff. STEP 1: Front of notebook and first page: First/ID page, should state your nombre, clase, nombre del profesor. On the inside of the front cover glue the grading rubric. STEP 2: -Glue Table of Contents (provided) on pages 2-3 after the Name Page. (You may need to trim the edges.) -The next 4 pages are for vocabulary. Label them: Unit 1 Vocab, Unit 2 Vocab, Unit 3 Vocab, Unit 4 Vocab. -The Next 2 pages should be labeled "Free Space" STEP 3: Tape or glue "Grade Tracker" to the back inside cover of the Notebook. Step 4: The last section of the notebook is for "Repasitos". Create a "tab" by folding the papers into a triangle. (If you have a 3 subject notebook, just label the 3rd tab "Repasitos.") Step 5: Number all pages beginning AFTER the "Free Space" page!!! Example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on Odd numbers on left and even on right always!! STEP 6: Course Syllabus & Expectations On Pages 1-2 title it "Sílabo de la clase" STEP 7: Sobre mi! About me! You can personalize your notebook cover. III. Sílabo Today YOU will go over the course syllabus, which I've providedon Canvas. Take a few minutes to read it and complete the activity below. Open your interactive notebook to page one and page two. To join Canvas- click the link below and go to syllabus https://leek12.instructure.com/login/canvas username: student number password: canvas2016 Page 2 The first thing that goes in to our INB is our course syllabus. Take a few minutes to tape down the syllabus to page 2. Use tape on the top as I will show you on the ELMO. This way you know exactly where to put it and how to tape things into your INB in the future. Page 1 Is where you will process the information. In other words all activities will be on the left and notes on the right side. On the student side you will answer questions in complete sentences. Draw a soccer ball, a sombrero, a piñata or a pair of maracas with a pencil on page one. In the white spaces, write a minimum of 5 important things you read on the syllabus for our class. (Examples rules, how to contact Sra. Smith, grading, etc.) IV. El alfabeto Go to the next available page in your interactive notebook to add the following notes. Write the date in Spanish. Title: El alfabeto Did you notice the four new letters? CH chico (boy) and leche (milk) LL llenar (to fill) and amarillo (yellow) Ñ mañana (tomorrow) and niños (children) RR perro (dog) and burrito (little donkey) In Spanish the V and the B are almost interchangeable. It's a semi-soft sound as in victoria, bobo or volleyball.
Práctica #1 We will say the alphabet one person at a time. Someone will say "A," then someone else will say "B." You can't communicate with anyone about who will say the next letter. If two people saw a letter at the same time, we have to start over with "A." The goal is to get all the way to Z. Práctica #2 Can you spell in Spanish? Spell these acronyms follow the model. 1. NFL ene -efe-ele 2. LCHS 3. USA 4. MTV 5. VIP 6. NBA 7. RSVP Práctica #3: Find five cognates in the dictionary. Cognates: Two words that have a common origin. They are similar or identical.
Spanish: asistir to attend/to be present English: to assist, use ayudar, to help Spanish/English molestar to bother (molest) máscara mask (mascara) argumento plot (argument) Práctica #4: You are going to record yourself saying the alphabet in Spanish.
