EQ: How do I express my daily routine? How does my daily routine compare to that of young people my age in a (target language) country?
Hoy es marts, el 24 de marzo LA AGENDA I. Verbos reflexivos Today, we will continue to how learn to conjugate and use reflexive verbs in Spanish. Here is a quick review from yesterday:
Uses of reflexive verbs: 1) Actions
despedirse (de) (e:i): to say goodbye (to) preocuparse (por): to worry (about) ponerse (+adj.): to become (+adj.) enojarse (con): to get angry (with) acordarse (de) (o:ue): to remember sentirse (e:ie): to feel alegrarse: to get happy llamarse: to be called; to be named These verbs can be used as reflexive verbs when the subject is doing the action to himself/herself. These verbs are not reflexive when the subject is doing the action to someone else. Ex. La madre baña al niño. The mother bathes the child.
Today we will learn how to conjugate reflexive verbs.
Follow these steps. Step 3- Write the reflexive pronoun before the conjugated verb. (Tú) te bañas Note: You must always use reflexive pronouns with reflexive verbs. Reflexive pronouns: Me ( myself) Nos (ourselves) Te (yourself) OS (yourselves) Se ( yourself/himself/herself) Se (yourselves/themselves) Here is an example of conjugating a reflexive verb in the present tense: ducharse=to shower Reflexive verbs follow the same rules when you conjugate them in the present tense as well and other tenses. Ex: Ducharse in the yo (first person) present would be me ducho. Pronoun Placement: Verbos reflexivos There are two places where reflexive pronouns can be placed, as seen in the example below. 1) Before a conjugated verb. (Yo) Me llamo Mirna 2) Attached to the end of the verb, ONLY IF the verb is not conjugated, such as infinitives or present participle. (A mi) Me gusta ducharme. Ella está cepillándose el pelo Importante: With Body Parts In Spanish, when reflexive verbs are used with parts of the body, they take the definite article (el, la, los, las) rather than possessive adjectives. Ex. (Yo) Me cepillo el pelo. (NOT Me cepillo mi pelo). Ella se lava las manos (NOT Ella se lava sus manos.) Stem Changers: Note stem-changers in the present tense will have a stem-change in all forms except for nosotros and vosotros. END OF NOTES Need more help?
