¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español 3!
Unit One: Lección Preliminar Essential Questions: 1) How are people a reflection of their culture? 2) How is the culture a reflection of its people? 3) How does language influence interactions between groups of people Today and tomorrow will be the only days we(I) will speak any English in this class. Remember that in Spanish III, we only use Spanish ALL THE TIME. This website is where you will find each day's assignments as well as resources you will need in order to complete your assignments. You must BRING your Chromebook every day charged to class and any other materials. Today's Agenda I. INTRO & SPANISH 4 CLASS PROCEDURES
Celebrities Speak Languages
After watching the video, we will have a class discussion about what you learned and what the video tells you about the acquisition (learning) of a new language. Reflect on the following questions: 1. How do you think that learning multiple languages has helped these actors/actresses to relate to the people around them? 2. How do you think that learning more than one language has affected their personality? Do you think they may have different personalities when speaking different languages? 3. How do you think learning another language will affect you? II. INTRODUCTIONS NAME GAME-We will play the name game standing next to chair or behind it. The first time you will pass the ball to the person next to you. I will model "Me llamo Señora Smith" "¿Cómo te llamas?" Once everyone has been introduced, then in the second round the ball will be tossed to another student across the way until everyone has gotten it, and you will need to remember the order. We will then add in "se llama" to tell the name of who the ball came from and where it is going. CIRCLING WITH BALLS - We will start this Ben Slavic activity to continue to get to know each other. Instructions for 3 Phrases Everyone is going to introduce themselves using just 3 phrases. First name Hometown Favorite Activity/Hobby Everyone quickly goes around and states these three phrases for these items. Ex - Me llamo Jasmine. Soy de Mar Vista. Me gusta bailar, pasar tiempo en familia y ver la tele. III. Repasito Each day we will have a warm-up or "repasito." The "repasito" will be posted to this blog. Each day, you will sit in your assigned seat, read the instructions on the board or pull out your Chromebook, and respond to the repasito. All "repasitos" must be done on a piece of paper and turned in every Friday. Today's "repasito" is to fill out a questionnaire with your most current information for Sra. Smith records. Questionnaire: About You! and to answer the questions below in Spanish. Contesta las preguntas:
IV. Pre-examen Van a tomar un corto examen para ver que saben de Español I, Español II o Expañol III. Saquen una hoja de papel y un lápiz. Para conocertles más van a escribir un párrafo sobre Uds. en Español usando oraciones completas. ¡Todo sobre mi! Tienes que incluir la siguiente información:
Reminder: Necessary Materials every day you will need a pen/pencil, paper, 1-one subject notebook, a 3-ring binder, glue sticks, transparent tape and a computer. Most of the class activities are completed online, so is ESSENTIAL to bring a charged laptop to class every day. |

It will result in a zero with no possibility of making up the assignment. 2) If you copy your work from somebody else, that is CHEATING! You both will receive a zero, and no option to re do. Always do your work, be honest and try your best. 3) Pass Days are for current Unit make-up work only! Once the Unit ends, late work will not be accepted.
