Today we will learn gender and number of articles and nouns in Spanish. A noun is a word used to identify places, things, animals and people. The definite article is the word the. It is used before a noun to specify it as something previously considered.
1) In Spanish nouns have gender; they are considered either masculine or feminine. 2)They also, have number which means that they are either singular (one) or plural (more than one). 3) Generally, nouns ending in –a, are feminine and nouns ending in –o are masculine. However, there are some exceptions. 4) Definite and indefinite articles are place before the noun. Definite Articles: We use definite articles to introduce specific nouns. 1) The Definite article in English is "The". 2) In Spanish there are four definite articles. 3) The Spanish definite article must agree with the gender and number of the noun that follows it.
