Nosotros/Nosotras Vosotros/Vosotras Ellos/Ellas/Uds. II. La familia We will watch two videos to practice the family vocabulary and the verb tener to express age and possession in Spanish. Go to Google Classroom. Take out your ear buds and let’s get ready to practice. III. Possessive adjectives Today we will continue to practice possessive adjectives. Remember they are use to express possession and must agree with the noun they describe in gender (masculine or feminine) and number(one or more than one) for 1st and 2nd person plural, and only in number for all other forms. They do not match the person possessing the noun. There are two ways to show ownership in Spanish. 1. Use a “de” construction a. Use this formula – article + noun + de + owner Examples: el libro de Maria (lit: the book of Maria) Los hermanos de Paco (lit: the brothers of Paco) 2. Use possessive adjectives Possessive adjectives in English are my, your, his, her, our, their. Their Spanish equivalents are as follows. EX: mi padre (my father) mis padres (my parents) tu padre(you father) tus padres (your parents) su padre (his/her father) sus padres (his/her parents nuestro padre(our father) nuestra madre (our mother f.) nuestros amigos(our friends) nuestras amigas (our friends f.) vuestro padre(your father) vuestra madre (your mother f.) vuestros amigos (your friends) vuestros amigos(your friends) su madre ( their/your mother) sus madres (their/your mothers f.) 1. Go to Google Classroom 2. Find the assignment called U4.3: Possessive adjectives, U4.4: Intro to Spanish – Family Tree Project and U4.5: The family and the verb tener 3. Open the document and follow the instructions. 4. All materials to create and complete this assignment are next to my desk. 5. When you finish, TURN IT into the basket. Go to the activity PRESENT TENSE: -er and –ir verbs > At the top of the conjugation page, check "Do not time me," then click the green START button. > Conjugate the verb according to the subject pronoun given. > You will conjugate until you have gotten through 60 verbs with 90% accuracy; if you have not reached 90% by 60 verbs, keep conjugating until you reach 75 verbs. > Once you have finished, be sure to click on the link RECORD/SUBMIT results next to your score, otherwise you will not get the grade. When finished, go to Google Classroom for our next activity. III. Vocabulario: La familia y amigos Go to Quizlet and create flashcards for La familia & otras personas vocabulary. You should work through the four activities under "Study" (Flashcards, Learn, Speller, Test), and at least one of the games (Scatter and Space Race). The Speller activity has sound-- it pronounces the vocabulary words for you, and you type them. Wear headphones if you have them; otherwise, just make sure you can hear the activity.
